U petak, 14.09.2012, sa početkom u 13h, na Univerzitetu Metropolitan, prof. dr Charles Thompson će održati seminar pod nazivom Fluid motion in the cochlea under compressive excitation.

Prof. Charles Thompson - biografija
Dr. Thompson je redovan profesor na University of Massachusetts, kao i direktor istraživačkog centra Center for Advanced Computation and Telecommunications. Dr. Thompson je osnovne studije završio na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu Univerziteta Njujork (New York University), magistrirao je na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu Politehničkog instituta Njujorka (Polytechnic Institute of NewYork), a doktorirao je na akustici na Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Thompson je pored University of Massachusetts radio i na Virginia Polytechnic Institute i Bell Laboratories. Za svoj rad u Bell Laboratories, dr Thompson je dobio prestižnu nagradu američkog predsednika, US Presidential Award for Excellence in Mentoring. Takođe je dobitnik i sledećih nagrada Tau Beta Pi Eminent Engineer, James E. Blackwell Scholar i AT&T Bell Laboratories Cooperative Research Fellowship; referenciran je u Who's Who among African Americans, Education, and Technology Today, American Men and Women of Science i West Babylon Alumni Hall of Fame. On je senior member of IEEE, Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America i član udruženja American Physical Society and Sigma Xi.
