When using the auto fan speed controller the Accelero Xtreme 2900 was near enough to being totally silent, even when the graphics card was under load. With a stress temp of 60 degrees (11 better than the standard cooling) and an idle temperature of just 51 degrees, we were already very impressed.
The next step was to test the Accelero Xtreme 2900 with a fixed fan speed, the problem was even at 50% the fans did not appear any louder. Then at 75% we could just hear the three fans spinning with the case door off. Then at full speed the Accelero Xtreme 2900 was still very quiet and we feel most users would be more than happy to operate their Accelero Xtreme 2900 at full speed all the time.
